Mason City man leads cops on chase until dog catches him

MASON CITY – A canine officer from a neighboring county was integral in the capture of a Mason city man who led cops on a chase early Thursday.

On the morning of Thursday, July 6, 2017 just after midnight, an officer of the Mason City Police Department stopped a vehicle near the Hy-Vee Drug Store for a traffic offense. As the officer approached the vehicle, it sped off. The officer was not able to catch up to the fleeing vehicle because of the evasive actions the driver took to get away from the officer. Several other officers converged on the area and began searching for the vehicle. About ten minutes later, the vehicle was spotted by a second Mason City police officer near 12th Street and North Pierce Avenue and when that officer attempted to stop the vehicle it again fled. The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle in a field near the city’s limits just west of 12th Street NW and North Eisenhower after it had been driven over a tire deflation device placed by a third Mason City police officer. Law enforcement personnel from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted other Mason City Police Officers with a perimeter. A Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy and his canine, Yeira, responded to give aid in the search for the driver. Within a couple minutes of beginning the search, Yeira located the alleged driver hiding in a marshy area not far from where the vehicle had been abandoned.

Taken into custody was 42-year-old Troy Wiebke of Mason City. Wiebke was eventually transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and held for bond on the following offenses: Improper brake light, Unsafe entry onto a sidewalk or driveway, Interference with official acts, Passing contrary to highway markings, Driving on wrong side of two lane highway, Eluding (felony), Failure to obey a stop sign, Driving while barred, Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (felony), and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Run, Run, Run you can run but cant outrun the radio or a dog

Jez-zuz he’s looking like a methed out rat. This guy needs prison, if not to learn to behave, at least to keep him sober enough for his body to recover.

…kind of made me wonder if the Police let the dog “chew” on him a bit…might help him understand…you never know!

Who let the dogs out, wuff wuff, good job Yeira. I wish I could have been there to hear him crying when the dog got him. He’ll plea down to improper brake light..

He’s still on probation from the last time he eluded cops on a motorcycle and endangered lives. Don’t worry, he can still get 8 more felonies, and revoke his probation 4 more times before the judges actually put his ass in prison.

A 250lb German Shepard? Not sure she could out run that skinny doper. One more POS doper off the streets of MC…Join the 13 dipshits they got a few weeks ago!!

250lb

In other words he is a piece of crap. They do walk among us.

Pretty smart dude huh? Looks like he might need a little protein added to his meth use. Sperm slushy.

Most public servants these days weigh in excess of 250 and are used as intimidation rater than job performance.

As opposed to your low IQ?

When did you learn how to read numbers?
