OPINION: HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL: FEDERAL CONCEALED-CARRY IS NEEDED NOW

By Todd Blodgett of Clear Lake –

On May 1, a black separatist named Kendrex White stabbed three white men and an Asian on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, in what’s been described as a hate crime. One of White’s victims, freshman Harrison Brown, died. But this isn’t about a black racist named White killing a white victim named Brown. The UT campus is a ‘Gun-Free Zone’, which proves that anti-gun policies aren’t only ineffective, but they preclude innocent victims of violence from being able to defend themselves. Esteban Santiago, AKA Aashiq Hammad, shot up a Florida airport in January. He snuffed out five victims and injured six others. This tragedy also epitomizes how anti-gun politicians prevent law-abiding citizens from self-protection. President Trump wants to allow law-abiding citizens to carry a gun in every state. Federal concealed-carry will allow victims to protect themselves and their property in Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., and other places where it’s now prohibited. Even Detroit’s Sheriff, James Craig, urges his constituents to buy guns for self-defense. Vermont requires no permit for concealed or open carry, and has America’s lowest violent crime rate. Will federal C-C mean more violence? Maybe.

But where’s the downside to eradicating car-jackers, would-be killers, rapists, and muggers? Aiming a loaded gun aimed at unsuspecting miscreants quickly facilitates attitude adjustments. Opposing federal Concealed-carry is pro-perpetrator and violates our Civil Rights. President Trump says, “The right to self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then we can surely do that for concealed-carry, which is a right, and not a privilege.”

Nationwide applicability means citizens with permits won’t be jailed while armed where carrying is now illegal. It will also enable police to focus more on criminals. Innocent, would-be victims deserve compassion, and it’s compassionate to make the United States safer for all law-abiding citizens., who will be safer when such violent malefactors are permanently retired. In February, 2017, a Kansas white supremacist shot two law-abiding Indian Nationals, and two patrons who tried to aid the victims. One of the Indians died from injuries inflicted by this hateful bigot. In Nov., 2016, David Wilcox was car-jacked in Chicago by four degenerates who yelled, “you voted Trump”, as they kicked, beat and stomped him.

The perps then drove off with his vehicle, as Wilcox hung on for dear life. At nearly 80 mph, Wilcox knew if he let go, he’d die. He told police that as he looked at the oncoming traffic, “the wheels on my side left the ground.” When the car slowed to 45 mph, he let go and “rolled about five to seven times into the oncoming traffic lanes.” This violence could’ve been obviated had those victims been armed.

Pro-perp Democrats leave lawful citizens at thuggery’s mercy, and must be held accountable. On Nov. 28, 2016, a Somalian refugee plowed his Honda into a crowd of Ohio State students, injuring eleven. Clueless Liberals had designated OSU’s campus as a Gun-Free Zone, which rendered the unarmed students helpless against the knife-wielding Muslim. Would-be muggers, car-jackers, rapists, killers, drug dealers, and other violent, dumb malefactors may get blown away, once victims can protect themselves and their property in every state. If so, good riddance. This isn’t about race: whites have stolen more far cash and property, and killed more people, than ALL minorities combined. So why not allow innocent citizens to turn the tables on attackers? Are Liberals who oppose federal right-to-carry also against spraying insect repellent on wasps? When faced with unprovoked violence which threatens lives and property, law-abiding Americans everywhere should be allowed to take out the trash.

I left Mason City 1979, after graduating as a Mohawk in 1974. The only ties I have to MC is this site and occasionally the Globe. It will always be home, but I will never be back. Don’t know you or remember you TB, but I sure as hell like what you write!!!! Look forward to your future articles here….

Thanks, ‘Anonymous’! I was in the MCHS class of ’79. But I know some people from your class. I’m glad you like what I write; my objective is to enlighten those whose minds are in the dark. Ignorance is an awful thing, and knowledge is good.

Mayberry was right, Blodgett is too far right! Glad he’s gone, and I wish Hillary beat Trump! And who needs a gun anyway!?

Ms. Castor, from a profitability standpoint, Mayberry sure wasn’t right. This is because my columns consistently hit #1 on the Globe-Gazette’s own website – in the category of ‘Most Popular in Opinion’, and ALWAYS garnered more comments (posted by different bloggers …) than the columns and published Letters to the Editor, and they evoked responsive Letters.

Yes, about half of the activity they generated was from readers who opposed my views. But the more clicks, etc., the better it is for advertisers, and stockholders in Lee Enterprises, which owns the Globe-Gazette. As to your claim that I’m “too far right”, well, that’s your opinion, honey.

I’m sure you do wish that “Hillary beat Trump”; I’d expect nothing less from a Radic-Lib. But as an anti-gunner, you’d NOT have liked the civil unrest that would now be well underway had HRC taken office.

As to who needs a gun? Maybe someday you will, sweetie. Because your views and arrogant manner of expressing them makes you about as appealing as the OIL that shares your last name.

Well, well, well now…
Todd, in addition to hypocrisy you can now add condescending blowhard to your repertoire of long-winded and absurd thoughts .
Your patronizing use of the words “honey” & “sweetie” indicates once again your lack of integrity or moral fiber.
You like to preach about not talking down to others, then you turn around and do the exact same thing.
The insincerity in you runs rampant.

The reason that you generated so many hits on the GG was not due to any form of rational or logical commentary on your part, but the vast majority were responsive comments to your bombastic and fatuous ramblings.
You thrive on controversy so that people like me will feed your narcissistic needs.

Your faux projection of being common man belies your actual self-importance and pomposity.
To paraphrase a line from the movie Top Gun “Son, your ego is writing checks your mouth can’t cash”.

A part of me wonders if you make these absurd and preposterous comments just to stir the pot.
There is valid reason for such an assertion as no one could possibly believe the nonsensical caca del toro that you propagate.

Ronnie, “sweetie” and “honey” are perfectly acceptable terms to use when addressing ladies. NEWS FLASH to you: chicks LIKE being called those terms of endearment! If you don’t believe me, ASK them. But things like Rosie O’Donnell, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary, and Lizzie Warren, they don’t count.

Despite your claim, sir, I’m as “common” as common gets. My favorite TV shows are ‘Bonanza’, ‘Green Acres’, ‘Gunsmoke’, and ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’. It’s hard to be “pompous” and like such stuff.

Ronnie, even the words you use, like this “caca del toro” (whatever the heck THAT is), well … those aren’t IOWA words. And they’re sure not on the menu at PastTime Gardens, or Taco Tico.

You liberal elitists just can’t help looking down on the rest of us, can you? Come on down to our level, Ronnie – and show some respect for us real Iowans. We’re good people, hear?

It is worse then you can think Ronald. This Blodgett has anger issues very bad. He has pull guns on people, this does include some I know. A couple years ago Todd, he gets very made at this carney, this was up to Rookies at the lake, he says the man took his money. Ok so he sticks a gun right in the carneys face the threats start up, the poor kid he could of been killed. I do not know if this guy stole Blodgetts money, I do not even care. Well nobody deserve get shot over a few bucks, ok my 2 cent’s.

He tried to steal from Todd. All Todd did was protect his property which is his right under our constitution. All the thief had to do was not steal and he wouldn’t have had to worry about it/ If you don’t like that move to France and let the Muslims finish you off.

L*v S never gets tired of kissing ass. Editor Matt and now Todd have become his best friends forever. And his France and Muslim reference makes no sense at all. What a sick and confused old man.

It makes no sense to a pathetic loser like you. But, it certainly does to anyone with minimum intelligence.

have known Todd for a long time. He is a very intelligent man who admits he has made some mistakes but he has learned from them and is better for it. Possibly you could learn from your mistakes when you grow up.

LVS could benefit from some mental Viagra. He has such a tiny brain.

Todd I read your columns in the Globe for the last several years, and I heard that let you go. I was shocked but then not surprised they would stymie a STRONG, CONSERVATIVE VOICE like yours. Just know, there are a lot of folks out there who love to read your columns. I’ll be watching NIT for your next one.

Thank you, ‘Mohawk Dad’ – I appreciate that. I, too, was surprised by editor David Mayberry’s abrupt jettisoning of my monthly column. Many north Iowans have told me pretty much the same thing you did, here. But it is what it is! I’ll try to submit a column here every month – now, here on N.I.T., just as I’ve been doing all these years. Best Regards, T B

Why is it if you are for guns you are call a right wing republican and if you are agents guns you are called a liberal democrat.
Can’t people just have an opinion without being labeled?

No one seems to have an answer to my question. Maybe that is one thing that is wrong in our country today.
Too many labels put on people

In reply to ‘Anonymous Too’: Many times, labels can be misleading, but in the case of the 2nd Amendment, there are VERY few liberal Democrats who favor a nationwide right-to-carry. Generally speaking (and this can be confirmed by looking at the voting records of politicians), Democrats OPPOSE gun rights. Here in north Iowa, state Senator Amanda Ragan voted AGAINST the recently-signed, common sense-based ‘Stand Your Ground’ law’. 33 out of the 50 Senators (which is 2/3) voted for SYG. But only FOUR Dems voted for it! EVERY Republican Senator voted to protect the civil rights of Iowans to stand their ground in the face of threatened or actual violence, including theft of their property. So where civil rights pertaining to the 2nd amendment are concerned, such labels are accurate, and helpful.

They didn’t even read the bill. They voted for the party. Its the Whigs vrs. the Tories. Right or wrong that is how our government operates. SAD.

Ok people why do you pay any mind to a drug addict that’s in the hate music business that done time in the jail here. Them that likes Blodgett’s bull s— needs to grow up, stop hating on people. No I am not for nobody taking whats not theirs, ok. Mr Blodgett it is not legal to shoot somebody that only steal’s they have to try to kill you if you want to shoot them not go back to being a jail bird like you are.

In reply to ‘Roxanne’: Yes, I’ve been locked up, and more than once – never denied it. Btw, plenty of people who are jailed/imprisoned, do NOT deserve to be. I deserved the punishment, and paid the price. However, I haven’t used ANY illegal drugs for 11+ years, and am NOT in the “hate music business”. I once was, but only as a reluctant stockholder; I sold my shares as soon as I received an offer. Yes, I KNOW it’s illegal to shoot perps who steal property and don’t pose a threat to the life of their victims. But the laws in too many states are stacked in favor of criminals; I want this changed, so the law favors law-abiding VICTIMS. Finally, Roxanne: I don’t “hate” anyone, but it’s not wrong to hate CRIME. Okay, are we clear now?

Congratulations Todd, you managed to find the one venue in all of North Iowa that will provide you with the target audience that you seek for your inane diatribes.
NIT is filled with some of the most ignorant, misguided and downright stupid people in all of NI.

Like a flame to a moth, NIT seems to attract the ill-informed, illiterate, clueless and outright moronic individuals as their gathering place.
Todd, that will suit your needs well in seeking out the people of a sheep mentality that you need to soak up the copious amounts of bovine fecal matter that emanate from your keyboard.

‘Ronald’, what’s so “inane” about wanting law-abiding citizens to be able to protect themselves against violent crime? As those with common sense know, what’s truly “ignorant, misguided, and downright stupid” is OPPOSING a nationwide concealed-carry law.

Those you refer to as “ill-informed, illiterate, clueless, and outright moronic individuals”, with a so-called “sheep mentality”, comprise a substantial part of the Obama-Hillary voter base.

But that’s okay, right? I mean, since they like Hillary, and B. O.

Apparently, before pounding out your comments, you visited a website called ‘Cliches’ R Us’ … how were you able to sneak on to the computer, from where you’re located? Maybe the staffers at the Nurses’ Station on your floor will double your meds, and tighten the strings on your strait jacket.

I find you somewhat amusing & pathetic at the same time, Todd Blodgett.

In the past you have espoused the virtues of patriotism and the values of the common man and then spoke out of the other side of your mouth and embraced the beliefs that the country should be ruled through plutocracy and/or oligarchy.
Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

For years you have been a proponent of states rights and limited Federal government and now you want to nullify those states rights with more Federal government laws.
Again, your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

And with you being such a devotee & servant of Donald Trump, I find the word “trumpery” most applicable in both the current President and your commentary.

Definition of Trumpery
1 a : worthless nonsense
b : trivial or useless articles

‘Ronald’, what’s “amusing” or “pathetic” about wanting to help protect the lives of law-abiding Americans? I favor States’ Rights, but NO state, in my view, has a right to DENY the civil rights of any U. S. citizen. As President Trump said, if drivers licenses from any state can be honored in all states, then so can concealed-carry. Where’s the ‘hypocrisy’ there? It’s your prerogative to consider civil rights “worthless nonsense” – and you’re flat wrong. However, Americans who truly care about their safety, and their country, vehemently disagree with you.

The analogy to a drivers license, besides the silly assertion of synonymy, is truly laughable and the point is a false equivalency.
For a host of reasons they are clearly dissimilar.

Driver’s licenses are reciprocal because the requirements are essentially uniform between the states, and it is in the states’ interest to participate in reciprocity.
Some States will issue (or restore) gun licenses to people with criminal or mental health records that would disqualify them in other States.

Your logic is consistently flawed.

‘Ronald’, by claiming my “logic is flawed”, you’re also saying that our President’s logic is flawed. Or don’t you realize that? But regardless, what about the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage? Radic-Libs like you LIKE that decision, which imposed on every state the same requirements/eligibility, and established the same legal right.

So, Ronnie, HOW can you justify opposing 50-state carry w/o being a HYPOCRITE?

I’ll check back in after the Cubs-Cardinals game to see if you’ve had time enough to come up with a LOGICAL reply.

But I won’t hold my breath …

In your opinion piece, you state it would be ‘compassionate’ to allow open carry in every state. Then you cite the Supreme Court’s decision to allow same sex marriage as an example of usurping state’s rights and, in the course of your reply, you denigrate the liberals who favor that. Most ‘radical’ conservatives were against that decision but isn’t it the same thing-hypocrisy? And to mention President Trump as a compassionate leader is hard to figure since his henchman, Jeff ‘Dobby’ Sessions, wants harsher sentences for drug users and more leniency for LEOs when using deadly force. He also wants to take away that right from those state’s which have legalized marijuana for medical and recreational use. Where is the compassion for those people in those states? Where is the compassion for those who are going to be adversely affected by the Republican’s health care takeaway? ‘Compassion’ for those who make over a million dollars a year would be about it. Using the word compassion when describing anything the Trump administration is doing is laughable.

@ ‘Bodacious’: While I agree that the SSM ruling by the SCOTUS is a usurpation of States’ Rights (which it was), federal CCP isn’t in the same category. That’s because NO state has a right to DENY a Civil Right that’s part of the Bill of Rights. If I want to carry one of my pocket pistols in Chicago, I shouldn’t have to fear being arrested.

I want the bad guys who commit crimes to fear lawful, armed citizens who can blast them away w/o fear of any legal repercussions. As to your concerns about Attorney General Jeff Sessions pushing for more leniency for law enforcement officers, that’s been needed for decades. Perps SHOULD fear the cops, because it leads to a safer country for all law-abiding Americans!

Whatever happened to Support Your Local Police? Why do you favor more “compassion” for drug dealers, and would-be muggers, rapists, and killers? Most people I know – in Iowa, and elsewhere – just want them GONE.

Hey, are you an ACLU member, Bo? You know, the American Criminal Lovers Union? Just sayin’ …

Two things, Mr. Blodgett. One, the compassion I spoke of was for people who are addicted to drugs. You, of all these posters, should know that addiction is a sickness not a crime. Sessions believes otherwise and feels they should be jailed and that will cure them. It won’t and you know that. Second, you didn’t answer my question about usurping the rights of states to make their own laws about marijuana. That is another of Sessions’ jaunts back to the 70s and Nancy Reagan’s ‘just say no’ bs. His statement that he doesn’t believe that marijuana has any medical value flies in the face of much of the medical profession and more of the LEOs than one might think. I admire many of our LEOs but allowing them more leniency will give the bad ones more freedom to beat, shoot and falsely accuse citizens.

‘Bodacious’ – we agree that Sessions is wrong to push for tougher sentences for NON-violent drug ADDICTS. Agreed, that locking junkies up basically only presses the ‘pause’ button on their addiction. but drug dealers, and distributors and wholesalers, especially those who are violent, are yet another matter. We also agree that drug addiction is a sickness.

However, IMO, it’s not a disease. Diseases cannot be willed away, or kept at bay indefinitely with 12-step meetings, therapy, and abstinence from what was causal to them.

While I have no problem, ‘Bodacious,, with medicinal use of MJ, I know for a fact that what Mrs. Reagan said (‘Just say NO’) is very sound advice; had I taken her advice, I’d have never become a drug addict. Here’s the rub: Many times, those on the Conservative side fail to recognize that once someone becomes addicted, just saying NO isn’t an easy option.

The so-called ‘right-wing’ mindset (on the issue of addiction, and how to overcome it) rarely works, once one is already a junkie.

So, that point goes to you …

As to law enforcement officers, IMO, most deserve more leeway, particularly in making arrests. I was on the White House staff when the SCOTUS ruled in the case of ‘Tenn vs. Garner’ (summer of ’85, I think), and learned that RR was very upset over it. Justices Rehnquist, Chief Justice Burger, and RR’s appointee, Sandra Day O’Connor, dissented; in RR’s view (and mine), they were correct.

This isn’t to discount the reality of bad (and, crooked, and even ‘dirty’) cops. I’ve had personal experience with crooked, and even demented, LEOs. But who doubts that fiascos like what occurred in Baltimore, and Ferguson, MO, could’ve ended quickly – and saved Billion$ of dollar$ in property damages – absent that abysmal SCOTUS ruling?

No one does, do they?

@ Bodacious – we agree that drug addiction is a sickness, and not a crime. We also agree that Sessions is wrong to seek longer incarceration for non-violent addicts – but drug dealers, whether violent or not, are another matter, IMO.

Addiction, IMO, also isn’t a disease; disease can’t be willed away, or indefinitely delayed, by participating in a 12-step program, or attending a 28-day re-hab facility. Addiction, while a sickness, is … it’s addiction.

Mrs. Reagan’s advice (“Just say no” to drugs) was, and is, superb. How I wish I’d taken it… and in this, I’m not alone! That said, it only works as a preventive measure; once a drug user becomes a junkie, that approach, by itself, won’t work. More steps are needed to achieve, and nail down, recovery.

As to medicinal MJ usage, we also agree.

As to providing more leniency to cops, I’m for it. Yes, I know there are bad cops, racist cops, and crooked cops: I’ve dealt with some. But the overwhelming majority, IMO, of America’s police officers are very good cops. I’d rather err on the side of protecting law-abiding citizens, and public safety.

The ‘Tennessee vs. Garner’ case, IMO, was wrongly decided. Ronald Reagan also thought so, as did all of the then-living former Presidents, with the exception of Jimmy Carter.

Todd, it is nice to see that we agree on something as serious and as epidemic as addiction and drug enforcement. I agree that harsh terms are needed for violent drug offenders. I believe that Ms. Reagan’s “just say no” was too simplistic to deal with the problems that addiction presents. It is a complex problem that deserves treatment that aims at recovery not punishment. Keep on writing. I like to know that my way of thinking is going to be challenged. It makes me believe that there is hope for this country.

@ Mr. Marquardt: I don’t know – but it could be. Who knows? One thing about David Mayberry: his last name – “MAYBERRY” – is very appropriate. That’s because he’s about as competent as Barney Fife, and he looks like Otis Campbell.

“Does it make you feel better about yourselves to belittle people to whom you feel superior?”- Todd Blodgett May 12, 2017 at 2:26 pm

Sanctimoniousness, thy name is Todd Blodgett.

“Sanctimoniousness”, REALLY? Not on your life, Ron. I know I’m a flawed person who has sinned. Ergo, I’m in no way sanctimonious, and am not a prig, sir. I’m truthful, common sense-oriented, and I always tell it like it is. Your attempt to deflect only proves you know you’ve lost the debate Your flim-flam tactics may work on an episode of ‘Matlock’, but not in the real world of ideas, facts, history, and logic.

You seem to be someone who probably has multiple academic degrees and looks down on those of us who don’t. You were probably on the Honor Roll and rarely got placed on detention. Well, if so, then good for you.

Now, please resume listening to NPR and sipping your Chablis, as you engage in your yoga stretches while you read the latest issue of ‘Mother Jones’. Us real Iowans are going to enjoy this beautiful day.

Hatred doesn’t become you, sir.

I’m sure you anti gun liberals change your position when it is an illegal doing the shooting/killing. This proves your life is based upon illogical thinking. I sure hope you people aren’t reproducing.

I hope your right, no reperducing for them don’t like guns. Bet most them Libtards don’t know how to even load or clean one much less fire off some rounds, and not shoot them self’s. They like there fairy tales you know, yes.

Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit, I is fer what Mr. Blodgett done said, it makes me as happy as a tick on a fat dog.
All ya’ll citified sugar britches out thar takes notice.
Mr. Blodgett done speaks the truth, why he be the smartest man I done knowed.

Real funny Cletus your making a parity of us, you commie’s make me sick. You think were all dumb, well ok if it would not of been for guns in the hand’s of good Americans you could not even say your crap. Wait till some illegal breaks in your house you cocky idiot.

Well kiss my grits Marvin and call me a hound dawg.
Don’t be getin ya’lls britches uppity thar.

By the ways thar Marvin justs to keeps you in the right…
That should be you’re not “your”
That should be parody not “parity”
That should be we’re not “were”

Ya’ll have a mighty fine day Marvin, like a dead pig in the sunshine!

Cletus, your response to Marvin makes my day. I have noticed that most of Blodgett’s fans are incapable of writing a complete, grammatically correct sentence, with properly spelled words and appropriate usage, structure, etc.

A retired art teacher isn’t smart enough to have an opinion.

^ And a full time ass kisser like you LVS has nothing better to do all day but troll here and insult people. Hope you are enjoying your retirement coot.

In reply to ‘Cletus’, and ‘Retired NIACC’: Does it make you feel better about yourselves to belittle people to whom you feel superior? You both understood Marvin’s points, but nonetheless demeaned him. This type of deflection is, in itself, an admission on your part that he got the better of the debate. Would you care to post something substantive, or just keep acting like an E. B. White ‘wannabe’?

I always knowed yer was a mighty smart feller thar Mr. Todd.
Yo’ haf allus been a suppo’ter of th’ avahage guy as I beleives in yo’.
Th’ fack thet yo’ haf allus suppo’ted Republican highfalutin’ways makes me no never mind Mr. Todd cus you can piss on my leg and tell me it’s a rainin’ and I trusts ya.
Jus readin yo’wurds makes me happier than ol’ Blue layin’ on the porch chewin’ on a big ol’ catfish head and a grinnin’ like a possum eatin’ a sweet tater.
Bless yo little pea pickin’ heart Mr. Todd.

In reply to ‘Anonymous’: I don’t know if the ‘Anonymous’ you are referring to as ‘LVS’ is the person you think it is, but the real ‘LVS’ is a hell of a man. He’s not only a military veteran who truly cares about the issues and loves America, but he was born in Mason City, and raised there by one of the finest men I’ve ever known. His late father, Vernon, befriended me, and taught me more than ANY teacher I had while I attended elementary school where he was employed for many years. LVS is in no way any kind of “a** kisser” – he’s more like a verbal “a** kicker” – and I like that!

^^ Todd Blodgett
The LVS that is on this site has never served in the military as he has stated numerous times.
The LVS here is an ignorant and foolish old man that thrives on ridiculous comments and insults.
And his lips are firmly attached to Marquardt’s posterior

As to on your theory that if the father is a good man then the son must be as well, I beg to differ on that one as Gary Blodgett is a good man.

In reply to ‘Anonymous’ – I stand corrected, on LVS having served in the military; I thought he had. I got that wrong, apparently. It was nice of you to post some kind words here about my dad, and I appreciate your doing so.

But is there really any reason to twist your compliment to him in a way that backhanded me? My dad is my dad, and I am myself.

Todd-Pay no attention to the Gutless TROLL who hides behind the Anonymous name and tried to insult real men. He is a coward and a sissy who is afraid to use his real name. A pussie like him doesn’t even know the meaning of the name “Real Man”.

Ah LVS, back to using your initials again after posting as anonymous for a long time.
And then you criticize others for it.
Besides being a stupid old goat, what a loser you are.

And be careful there LVS, kissing Blodgett’s ass might make Matt jealous. 🙂

Still a gutless TROLL posting behind a fake name because he isn’t man enough to stand behind his words. What a Chickenshit. Not worth wasting time on.

Sorry Mr. B, Hillary is right. You gun nuts get your jollys’ off people that gets shot. You think its better for people to die, even if it is over somebody’s wallet. Why do Republitard’s value money and stuff more then life? Maybe on count of because they dont vote Trump. That sounds about right to me.

In reply to ‘Darcey’: Instead of insults and name-calling, how about some logic, or an actual attempt to refute my points? It IS better for certain criminals (i.e., car jackers, rapists, would-be killers, muggers, house burglars, et al) to die – regardless of their race. Society would be better off without them, even if the Democratic party wouldn’t. Why are you so upset at the prospect of such criminals being killed by law-abiding citizens during the commission of a crime? It still won’t prevent such cretins from voting, after all.

I’d bet that she would be singing a different tune if someone broke into her house and raped her, her children, or her mother, or maybe even killed them. There is no place in society for people who do things like that. Keep up the good work Mr. Blodgett.

Republicans don’t you idiot. Read the statistics on gun crimes and deterrents. It will open your eyes and maybe your mind if that is possible, though perhaps doubtful. Your comment is that of the uneducated when it comes to gun control.

Thank you, ‘Allen’, and ‘Anonymight’! I try to tell it like it is.

Common sense at last. Good thinking !

@ Anonymous, common sense and shooting people who pose no threat to life do not go together, except in the minds of rightwing nuts like Mr. Blodgett and you and your fellow Neanderthals. Please exit this site, and save your hatred for your next Klan meeting.

Great article Todd. People need to know the truth even though the liberals will try to deny it.

Thanks, ‘Anonymous’! I’m glad you like it. Please let your friends know that my column has moved over to N.I.T.

Mr. Blodgett admits more violence could be made, from more crazy people having guns. This does not bother him, he is all for the blood that will be spilled. This is why I hate right wingers, they just want people to get killed. Especially if they are black or brown.

Agree with this, anybody tries steal my stuff, I kill. Don’t need more crooks, too many around here now. Good on Blodgett, he is dead right.

Thank you, Wayne.

@ Hillary, this is not about black’s and brown’s, it is about good people not getting stole from. That sheriff Blodgett talks about, Craig, he is black as can be, wants his people in Detroit to get guns to, you moron.

In reply to ‘Hillary’ – I do NOT want any “crazy people having guns.” I totally oppose ANY “blood” of any law-abiding citizens being shed. Please don’t be so irresponsible in misinterpreting my thoughts. I won’t even reply to your unfounded claim about minorities, because they are the very ones who are most likely to be VICTIMS. Federal C-C would help them the most.

Yours might be the most ill informed post here.
