LETTER: Robin Anderson plans Prestage pork plant meeting at Park Inn

In a letter delivered to NIT Wednesday evening, it appears Mason City Chamber of Commerce Director Robin Anderson is planning a meeting on the Prestage Foods hog processing plant that was already voted down. The meeting is allegedly set for June 2, 9:30 AM and is for person she designates as “centers of influence” and “volunteer leaders of local boards”.

Here is the letter:

Robin Anderson
Robin Anderson

Thank you so much for your service to the students and families of Mason City. It appears your volunteer job has been especially difficult recently; we appreciate the time and effort you spend on behalf of the community.

I regret the school board did not receive a special briefing on the Prestage project. I imagine it was disconcerting to have your superintendent speak at the city council podium in support of a project without the full knowledge and support of the board of education.

The Chamber Board (at our request) received a thorough briefing early-on about the proposed pork processing plant. We had the opportunity to ask questions about workforce, water and wastewater capacity, environmental impacts, etc. As a result, we provided a Resolution of Support at the first public meeting. Because many other stakeholders as well as the general public, did NOT receive the facts on this project in a timely manner, the end result has been a great deal of misunderstanding, misinformation, and acrimony which has divided our community. To me, it feels an awful lot like the Vision Iowa ordeal.

The Chamber and NI Corridor EDC are putting together a meeting for “centers of influence” and volunteer leaders of local boards at 9:30 AM on Thursday, June 2 at the Historic Park Inn. Chamber Board Chair Steve Noto wants to hold this meeting at the hotel as a reminder to people that the Vision Iowa project was voted down TWICE by our city council—and had we not pulled it from the flames, Mason City would certainly be a very different place today.

Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority (formerly IDED), has agreed to come, and we will have a representative from Prestage, and someone who can speak to environmental concerns, etc. We’ve asked former superintendent Keith Sersland (currently a consultant for public schools) to provide some information on how the proposed plant will impact local schools. Each of the presenters will be a neutral party.

The goal of this meeting will be to arm stakeholders with FACTS regarding the proposed facility. Our ultimate goal is to have a new development agreement with Prestage brought to the council table for consideration that will be supported by our community. We believe it is very likely the plant will ultimately be built in North Iowa—and if this is the case—we would like the bulk of the economic benefit to come to Mason City.

You’ll receive a formal invitation to this event next week, but I wanted to reach out to you now so you will have as much lead time as possible to get this on your calendar. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Robin

Teal & Spencer ( Robins offpsring ) will most likely move back to MC for jobs at Prestage…..high pay, great benefits, the wonder list goes on and ln and on and on…got it?

Well I am not at all surprised at the meeting you have scheduled ; I supposed a minimum a couple high ranking Presage officiasl will be present wearing Santa Claus suits but instead of bags slung over their shoulders they will bring vouchers for company jobs, and those jobs will not be at $13.00 an hour. Traditionally jobs of that sort generally disappear once the stench reaches the desired level.

I don’t have a daughter and tell that to yourself when something SCREWS up in your tiny world. Doh!

If you did she would be to ugly to screw. Just like your attitude you racist.

Mason City’s plan to revitalize the north end, stink up the south end.

They need to quit beating a dead horse.

These people have been talked about and disliked for far too long. Now they have been exposed for the manipulative social engineers they are. Now you will know the details of how they push our buttons behind the scenes.

Find the Rick Mathes bill board by the bridge on East State St. Put a picture online here. What is the subliminal message for band festival along the route?
Rick wants you to associate HIM as LEADER OF THE MARCHING BAND. He wants YOU to THINK of HIM as a leader, HE wants You to follow blindly as the band does the drum major.

What is the subliminal? Find the bill board. You will consciously make the connection now that you have been “primed” to notice the manipulation.

Those of you whom have ran for office in the past and been sucker punched by this hidden manipulative social engineering should be livid. Every citizen has been manipulated in the pastr, just as you are now.

‘Social engineering” Google it.

As these manipulators loose their control over you…..They will throw their tantrums. Come out swinging. And attempt to turn truth into lies and lies into truth. They will attempt the character assassinations they have used in the past.

Isn’t it about time THEY have a taste of their own tactics?

THINK, step outside you comfort zone, take back YOUR city!

I Wish I would have seen this BEFORE I sent them my dues

I’m going to cancel our membership to the chamber. This is outrageous. Growth just to have more people just for the sake of a larger population, but a lot more welfare recipients is not good thinking. We need to grow when we have people who can support themselves, not more weight on the back of taxpayers.

There was a recipe on FB several months back about how the people on welfare make more than the people with jobs. It starts with not being married, her getting an apartment paid for by the government and the man living with her, having kids, getting welfare, food stamps, WIC, going to all of the food banks around to get food, selling food stamps, getting earned income credit by one parent claiming head of household, and the other claiming the other child and head of household — I may not have it all right, but you get the idea. We, the working poor, are the ones who don’t do it right.

lol yea, that is why you’re the working, uneducated poor. Facebook lulz

Now we are seeing the effect of these behind the scenes exploits. The minority whom manipulate the the masses. Rick, Robin, the Mayor telling us what is good for us. This is what we have to look forward to:

Hopefully the Council will stand up for the citizens of Mason City and tell Anderson where to shove her ideas. I am sick of the chamber of commerce, Ron Prestage, some council members and the mayor talking down to the citizens of Mason city who oppose this plant then come begging for our money. Robin if you think this is such a good idea have your special interest group pay for it.

This Prestage fiasco is NOTHING like the Vision Iowa Project. This IS an example of psychopathic short term, me, me, me thinking. Any one whom believes the pork slaughter facility is good for ANYTHING shows a poor inner sense of right and wrong. A psychopath doesn’t have a conscience. If he lies to you so he can steal your tax money, he won’t feel any moral qualms, though he may pretend to. He (She)may observe others and then act the way they do so he’s not “found out”.

THE question everyone should be asking is, “Are Robin Anderson’s stakeholders able to tell the difference between right and wrong FOR OUR community?” Based on Robin’s performance, poor judgment, and personality traits…….I would say no.

Make a commitment to get a page of honest, Mason City residents signature’s on the NO TO PRESTAGE Petition.

The petition may be the best show of hands vote we get.

Here’s why.

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/time/1998/11/23/pigs.html

As the mayor, Robin Anderson, And Rickie turn truth into lies and lies into truth.

We hear you, we see you, and we understand your deceit.

STOP tearing our community apart with your lack of empathy!

here is the “no-to-revote” petition…

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/say-no-to-prestage-revote-mason-city-ia/

… and here is the original no-to-prestage petition:

https://www.change.org/p/terry-branstad-the-people-vs-prestage-water-quality-and-quality-of-life-across-north-iowa

sign both if you have not already! 🙂

While these petitions are worth while. There is a good old fashioned sign your name, address, and date petition. People will be in your neighborhood. Or, go online to the People vs. Prestage Facebook page to download the Petition to cover your block, friends, or family. Keep the Mason City residents separate from those of us against Prestage in the county or the whole of North Iowa please. This is the best attempt at a “show of hands” vote for Mason City. Thank you for stepping up to show your heart for community.

thank you for doing this! dont forget the briarstone development, you should get a fair amount of signatures here!

there is a problem with the online petition in that it shows location incorrectly. as you sign you dont get to provide your address, the petition server tries to resolve it based on ISP gateway. i signed it from my home and it incorrectly shows me living in des moines. same thing seems to have happened for many other local residents signing it.

I wonder if it was the fact that Anita Micich publicly endorsed Prestage without the support of the Board of Education that was the final straw that caused them to fire her. The timing seem to be too close to be a coincidence.

Shame on you Robyn for saying people were saying they were going to GO AFTER families. That’s bullshit and you know it. See? How could you want more of what you hate? You are NOBODY!

Call it what you want . If being a racist is worrying about our land and oxygen and who my daughter might marry then so be it. I bet you love your neat little world and if someone messed with it you’d
have a fit. Racism goes many ways dummie.

If you raised you daughter correctly you wouldn’t have to worry about who she is screwing.

I am surprised he is not meeting with Black Bartz up here in worthless county also – Bart is a lover of the TTP trade agreement and would sell his soul and our country to foreign interests if he could cultivate some cash in hand.

How convienent ! GOVERNOR to be in Mason to sign biofuel bill?? Old Bobbin Robin will be sniffin his azz all over Mason pushing THEIR HOG KILL/KILL MASON CITY pork plant . Jeez that one was hard to finger out.

Oh boy meeting at Historic Park Inn, did they ever get rid of the manager with the felony drug background? Melissa ? They need a new management hospitality group to run it! At least here what they have to say it would be nice to have a new business that bring things to mason city’s economy , it has pros and cons ! Just like everything else

Who cares what somebody did in their 20’s when now their alnost 50!!! Pretty sure u did dumb shit when U were Young n Dumb!!! I agree The Precious Historic Park Inn Needs better management from the ground up, but leave peoples past out of it creep!!

Johnson, if you are worried about felons, Google Ron Prestage felony charges. They say it was a mistake, but don’t all prisoners claim that?

Boycott the business folks ( in favor of Prestage ) that participate in this upcoming meeting. Keith Sersland…..give me an f’n break !! He wanted the BJ Clark Correctional Facility built in a residential neighborhood back in the 90’s !! He’s quite a piece of work…keep an eye on him for sure. Keep the pressure on Schickel, Kuhn & Lee: e-mails, phone calls, letters….whatever it takes.

Matt correct me if I’m wrong……Is this the picture of Robin Anderson going at you. as in an attack when she was soooo mad? You called her out on yet another lie or something?

If Prestage Farms is still hanging around Mason City it should tell folks that this plant is not wanted anywhere in Iowa. Must not be as many Cities lining up for a hog kill facility after all. At the very least all tax-payer incentives should be off the table its obvious we don’t have to pay it.

Sickening! Absolutely sickening!

Max we need another meeting to get ready for Jun 2.

true TRUE true . Good points without question.
But here’s one…… CEO? Has to be the funniest shit yet!!!!
Yes see you in the park with our new NEIGHBORS! Yippie! Gonna be wild! Oops I didn’t mean to spill my beer on your daughter that I’m gonna marry. We’ll work it out okay?

Racist

Hey wait a minute! She does wear fake pearls so maybe she really is a blue collar walking around fake smiling likes the rough crowd kind of girl! She’ll get it alright if the real working people move in. Awesome. Friday night in park here we come!!!

Them pearl’s is not the only fake thing Robin has, go a little lower and farther out, see more fakery. Then theres her personallity, about as real as Hillarys face-lift and her sniper story’s, yes. To bad we can’t do like that tin man done on Wizard of Oz, toss water on her she melt’s all away.

I have been watching the Mason City council meetings.I have not heard one person say they would like to work at the slaughterhouse.

Giggling for sure. I don’t understand this about her, I see one side then another, neither of which have ever been democratic so it’s a mystery. But I live with it. You are right Barb, she thinks she is an elite type yet wants the smell.
She hates blue collar type folks WHY would she want them all around her even more?…Because let’s face it this type of business sure isn’t going to bring in a money rich crowd I don’t care what color or race or where from. I’m that type and I can’t handle the thought..bringing this place down down down more. At that point all you have to do is look around. That will really freak her out.

Yes Robin I do have concerns and questions, but will you answer to them? Never I’m positive.
So we are clear… pulled from the flames? Really? Remember who voted for it, you remember right? One thing I guess we could say that has risen is the Park Inn…check the names on the plaque inside next time you drink there. Other than that not much is shaken in this town to stake claim to. Unless you consider statues and a restaurant or two pulled from flames.
Stake holders? Who are you talking about? Neutral parties? Who are you talking about?
Last I heard stake holders would be ALL of our citizens and Prestage is NOT a neutral party. We would think you would be happy not to have THE smell when you are having guests or the likes of us which you cannot stand running around you when you go to events or shopping.
Transparency ? You sure are with this mtg. You are letting us know EXACTLY who’s in or out and of course you are truly not democratic in your thought process about any of it. What’s that like?

Should get names and pictures of everybody going to this meeting and simply choose other businesses to spend our money. Also anybody with a globe gazette subscription should drop it if you are against this hog facility. They won’t listen till it hurts their pocket book. I would like to have a list of businesses that support this so I can spend my dollars else where.

We can hope they die soon!

Ms. Anderson needs to go back to school. First she says “we will have a representative from Prestage” then, “Each of the presenters will be a neutral party.” She must have missed the meaning of ‘neutral’ somewhere along the line.

Anderson and the chamber have zero credibility with working people in Mason City. This group does not represent the citizens of Mason City just their members and there is a hell of a lot of other stake holders to be considered.

THIS IS HOW STUPID ANDERSON/GALES ARE….If MC invest 15 million- pays for water/road changes too, and the company files ch 7 or 11 Bankruptcy let’s say in 7 years, how many millions is MC out? Don’t say that lean years couldn’t bankrupt this company., one pulled out and abandoned Sioux City and left a mess.

Let’s also talk out this companies pending and confirmed lawsuits.

Will the MC Chamber-Robin A / NIACC Auditorium- -Elizabeth G in town support be damage by businesses that firmly disagree with their hog kill position? Many are already boycotting future business with two reality firms WAY TO FAR involved (Math/Schn).

THIS HAS ALREADY AND CONTINUES TO DIVIDE MC. THEY VOTED AND SAID NO..DONE

This will absolutely affect those businesses. I already asked my husband to withdraw our business’s Mason City Chamber membership. We won’t be eating at Burks again, sadly because my husband especially enjoys the place, and we will NEVER have any business interaction with either Mathes.

Nothing is stopping the pork plant from coming here. They can come if they want. What is stopping them is they want our money, Let the people that want it and have the most to gain fork over the 15 million the city was going to dole out to them over the 10 yrs. Hey Rick matthis fork over your money robin anderson how about your money and that goes to all of the council members who are in favor and the farmers who stand to gain you guys subsidizes this mess. F all the pork farmers who come to the meeting to preach you have no skin in this game..

Amen!

Money and people are stopping Prestage. No free money. Add 40 to 80 million dollars to the price tag should Mason City not provide Water and Sewer services. The St Joseph, Triumph slaughter house receives water from a private corporation. Triumph received a land deal to develop a run down area of town. Look at the St Joseph Development agreement.

A few individuals with character flaws are attempting to influence citizens for individual financial gain at everyone else’s expense.

No other city in North Iowa has the financing capacity. The slaughter house industry looks for ability of the tax payers to pick up the tab.

It’s time to take a hard look at our business leaders and elected officials.

If we are to build community there has to be heart involved. Get rid of the heartless. They keep doing the same behaviors and we just let them.

What 95% of all Americans do not realize is the sneaky TTP trade deal Obummer and his socialist friends are working on. This trade pact (TTP) states that any FOREIGN OWNED COMPANY – just on paper or not) will come under UNITED NATIONS LAWS -voiding all local/state/federal laws. If the stink is not offensive in Iran then it cannot be considered offensive in the United States – loss of sovereignty by corrupt politicians and the ELITE. Watch these people elected ones for sure. (TRAITORS) will sell their soul to the devil for a monetary gain. TRUMP 2016 !!!!

Cockadoodledoo!!

So when those holding public office disobeys the marching order because of opposition from their voting neighbors, the vote is re-executed until the proper result is delivered? So much for the democratic process.

Thanks to the whistle blower who exposed this backroom deal!

Time for a Bernie Protest out side the old red light hotel – going to be a wild nite –FREE BEER for protestors using the unisex port -a potties that will have to be set up.

Lets skip the beer. This thing is turning volatile enough without alcohol. Besides that, count me in.

Maybe she could get obummer or Hitlery to issue an executive order. Tar and feather these socialist worthless pieces of pig chit. Run her out of town.

Lol. Couldnt of said it better!!!

You do realize that it is a conservative Republican governor who is pushing this deal, right? Think it’s funny you bring in O’Bama and Clinton.

Names of people for everything except environmental concerns. Perhaps we should start looking for environmental experts to attend (experts that are chosen by someone other than the ones pushing this — because we all know they will find someone who will say anything for money). Iowa City may be a nonbiased, educated place to look. The fact that this is a private meeting stinks. I think there should be a protest outside with EVERYONE against this holding signs. If they say they have numbers for it, we should show them we have numbers of people AGAINST it. This isn’t going to go away easily, we have to continue to fight it EACH and every time.

“The goal of this meeting will be to arm stakeholders with FACTS regarding the proposed facility.” Who are the stakeholders???

I think we should show robin who are the “stakeholders” and print out a pork steak, color it, glue it to a popsicle stick and use it as a sign to protest her “stakeholder” meeting. We are all “stakeholders” because we live here. We pay taxes here. She doesn’t get to hand pick who gets a voice and who doesn’t. #steakholder

Ok people let’s get ready to attend and to tell Prestage no thanks to a disgusting pig killing factory!

I wonder if Ms. Anderson has considered the possible implications her strong public support of Prestage may have on local businesses who may choose to withdraw their membership in and support of the Mason City Chamber of Commerce. If not, she certainly should.

This was already decided. How many times are we going to decide on the? Didn’t get your way? Jesus.

It is possible to conduct a non-binding “show of hands” vote. Use of the “voting system” could be requested of the county supervisors. Deciding whom would pay the costs to the county auditors office for the oversight and what rules apply. There are rules dictating time frames surrounding the June primary election. All it would take is opening a discussion with the city, county supervisors and the auditors office.

Quit using “whom” incorrectly!

Somebody shut the Pig herself Robin Anderson up!!! Nobody likes her anyways! Prestige owner disrespected citizens of MC he can go somewhere else !!!

We can’t vote on it because of state laws as said in a meeting..Savage

I’m sure this has been asked, but why can’t we just put this to a vote?

Seem like the people of Mason City have plenty of time to vote on it now, but they would rig it so it would pass anyway . Hey maybe we can bring Diamond Joe’s back for a vote.

Didn’t you hear what our state Representative Sharon Steckman said. IT’S A BAD IDEA TO BRING THEM BACK!

She said it is a BAD IDEA TO BRING BACK PRESTAGE!

If Steckman is against it I am all for it.
