JONES COUNTY, IOWA – Three people died in a head-on collision Sunday evening in Jones county.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van driven by 60-year-old Michael Anthony Miller of Madison, Wisconsin, was westbound on Highway 64 near 120th Avenue at about 10 PM. At the same time, a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by 18-year-old Alexis Cheyenne Taylor of Oxford Junction was eastbound at the same location.
Miller’s van crossed the center line at this time and impacted Taylor’s LeSabre, resulting in a head-on crash.
As a result, Alexis Taylor died as did two passengers: 75-year-old Sharon Joy Taylor and 11-year-old Jade Taylor, all of Oxford Junction. Miller was injured in the crash, as well, and his status was not given by the Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
