Clear Lake assistant football coach Curt Charlson leaves program

clear lake lions logoCLEAR LAKE – The Clear Lake Lions have lost a long-time assistant football coach.

Curt Charlson, who has been at Clear Lake in various capacities since 1974, announced yesterday that he will be stepping aside from the football program. He has served the program for over 40 years as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator.

“There are not enough adjectives to describe what a class act that Curt Charlson has been for the Clear Lake Football program,” a social media post connected to the football team said.  “From the strong work ethic and high standards for coaches and players, to the constant watching of game film, or to the stable, yet fired up coach that you saw every Friday night on the sidelines for nearly half a century: Clear Lake will surely miss Curt Charlson. Truly the end of an era in Clear Lake.”
