Alcohol may have played part in fatal crash Sunday morning

logo-iowa-state-patrolMONTGOMERY COUNTY – An Iowa man is dead, and a woman and a small child were thrown from the vehicle during an early morning crash Sunday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2001 Olds Aurora driven by 23-year-old Brandon L. Perez of Fort Madison was traveling westbound on Highway 34 near Q Avenue Sunday morning just after 2 AM when it dropped off the shoulder. Perez attempted to over-correct the steering wheel to the left which caused the vehicle to cross the roadway and enter the south ditch where it rolled several times, coming to rest on its top.

Perez remained in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult female passenger, 30-year-old Heather J. Knox and an un-named 3-year-old child who were passengers in the vehicle were thrown clear. They were taken by helicopter to area hospitals. The report states that neither injured victim was using a seat belt, but Brandon Perez was.

The reports states that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

Good thing they didn’t have their seat belts on..
The one still in the car, dead.
The two thrown clear, alive
I always thought this was just a scam to make money..
I guess this proves it…

Alcohol, maybe, they are lucky to be alive. Don’t drink and drive, the life you save may be your own, dumbass.
