Ackley man interferes during drunk driving stop

WAVERLY – An Ackley man has been arrested for the second time in recent months for interference with official acts, this time causing an injury during a drunk driving stop.

Delmer Brass, age 25 of Ackley, Iowa, was stopped by a Bremer county deputy for a traffic violation. During the course of the traffic stop and investigation, the deputy determined that Brass was intoxicated. As the arrest was being made, Brass interfered, causing an injury to the deputy.

Brass was jailed on charges of second offense operating while intoxicated and interference with official acts causing injury.

Brass posted bond on February 23 and was released from jail. He awaits a court hearing on March 6.

In January, Brass pleaded guilty to interference with official acts in Hardin county after an incident involving Ackley police. He was ordered by a judge to pay $407.25 in fines and court fees.

Sounds like ol’ Delmar is a slow learner.

@Buzz-these people just do not care. They have no intention of ever paying the fines and will just continue to drive drunk. They know the judges will let them off.
