Woman involved in Melee on Monroe sent to jail

MASON CITY – A woman involved in a fracas on Monroe Avenue in Mason City last summer that led to one person going to the hospital and several arrests is now jailed after a guilty plea related to that incident.

Valerie Nicole Merrideth, age 28, entered guilty pleas to public intoxication and disorderly conduct – fighting or violent behavior. She was sent to jail for two days and ordered to pay $120 in court costs.

Her guilty plea is in connection to an incident that took place on Wednesday night, August 6 at about 7:30 PM. Emergency calls reported several men and women arguing and pushing each other in the liquor store parking lot at 1st NW and North Monroe Avenue. Officers and deputies responded and made several arrests in a several-block area. Iowa State Patrol and Mason City Fire Department also responded.

Several participants fled on foot or in vehicles as law enforcement arrived. Merrideth was one of at least 6 people arrested in relation to that incident.

This B looks like trouble. She needs to go back to Chicago or Detroit. 28 year old Thug

She looks good in jail stripes doesn’t she.

It’s sad but I have heard people refer to sid’s old licker store as the poor peoples cultural center – turn the vacant mall into a homeless shelter and keep the welfare buses running 24/7 bringing in welfare people from other states that have run out of money to fund them. Crazy -man- crazy !
