DES MOINES – In a video that has recently surfaced, the Democratic candidate for US Senate, Bruce Braley, now claims he is a farmer, just a few months after he disparaged Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley for being “a farmer from Iowa who never went to law school”.
Braley is said to be a trial lawyer by profession.
His remarks were captured in a video that was shot at a Fourth of July Parade in Iowa Falls. In the video, an Iowa voter tells Braley that she’s a farmer, and Braley twice says “So am I.”
Braley’s opponent, Joni Ersnt, did not miss the opportunity to attack.
“In an incredibly weak attempt to compensate for his politically-damaging attack against Senator Chuck Grassley for being a farmer, liberal trial lawyer Bruce Braley is now claiming that he too is a farmer,” Ernst said in a statement. “Except, the only problem with Braley’s story is…he’s just not a farmer, nor does he own any farmland in Iowa.
“After previously mocking Iowa farmers while raising campaign contributions in Texas, the arrogance of liberal trial lawyer Bruce Braley reached a new low over the weekend with his astonishing claim that he too is a farmer,” said Joni Ernst campaign spokeswoman Gretchen Hamel. “The fact is Braley is just another trial-lawyer turned Washington politician and any efforts to claim he is also an Iowa farmer is a flat out lie.”

Braley is such a lier
What or who is he waiting in ambush for? Maybe you meant that he reclines? Oh, did you mean liar? As in someone who states falsehoods? I hate being the grammar police, but how can serious people take your opinions seriously when you can’t convey them an accurate manner? When educated people see things like this they immediately dismiss your opinion and it’s your own fault.
@John-Not to worry here. Intelligent people completely understood what you meant. Dumb ones point out you made a slight error. That is the only way they can make themselves seem smart.
The written word is the sole means of communication in this medium. One would think using the proper words to get his or her message across would be a priority. I have no issues with typos, but when people misspell or misuse words it hurts their credibility. Why would I take someone’s opinion seriously if they don’t know the difference between there, they’re and their for example? I’m not even saying I disagree with his sentiment, just that it hurts his argument.
Educated people respond to the idea’s presented and overlook spell check or human error. I speak German as well and words can only be spelled one way unlike English. Einstein made spelling errors…oh wait.. but he’s nothing on you.

I’ve noticed that since the popularity of texting spelling has gotten worse. I try to spell correctly but sometimes I go to fast and forget to spell check myself.
