Waterloo man dead in fiery UTV crash

WATERLOO — A Waterloo man lost his life on Monday, March 30, 2026, following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Black Hawk county involving a utility task vehicle (UTV).

WATERLOO — A Waterloo man lost his life on Monday, March 30, 2026, following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Black Hawk county involving a utility task vehicle (UTV).

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 66-year-old Scott Reynolds was traveling southbound in a 2020 Polaris UTV just north of 4505 Crane Creek Road. At approximately 1:55 p.m., the vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the east ditch. The UTV reportedly came to rest on the driver’s side before catching fire.

Reynolds was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. His body was transported by Dunkerton Ambulance to the state medical examiner’s office at Allen Memorial Hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkerton Fire and Ambulance, and Sheetz Towing. The incident remains under investigation.
