Rosella "Rosie" C. Quass, 95, of Frederika, died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in Frederika.

Rosella “Rosie” C. Quass, 95, of Frederika, died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in Frederika with Lay Speaker Betty Schmudlach and Lay Speaker Neil Whitney officiating. Interment will be at Dunham Grove Cemetery, rural Randalia. Visitation will precede services at the Church on Friday starting at 9:30 AM. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.

Rosella Caroline, daughter of Harland and Ruth (Fordyce) McComb was born January 12, 1931. She graduated from Randalia High School in 1948 and continued her education at Iowa State Teachers College (now known as the University of Northern Iowa) in Cedar Falls, earning her teaching certificate. Rosie taught elementary education for several years. On June 15, 1950, she was united in marriage with Wayne Quass at the Methodist Church in Reinbeck, Iowa with a family friend, Rev. Virgil Grant presiding. To this union five children were born, Audrey, Rodney, Kristy, Lynette and Mary. Rosie was baptized on Palm Sunday, 1952, at the Methodist Church in Randalia, the same day her daughter, Audrey was baptized. The family lived in Greene, Shell Rock, rural Finchford, and Tripoli, until moving to Frederika in 1991. Rosie worked at Wartburg College for over twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Frederika and the Frederika Ladies Group. Rosie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards, playing the piano/organ, gardening, traveling but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Audrey Goodwin of Sumner, Rodney Quass of Frederika and Mary (Dave) Brouwer of Britt; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy (Kandy) Quass, Bobbie (Scot Rathbone) Quass, Jamie (Bruce) Ohrt, Chad Meyer, Cory Meyer, Brent (Amanda) Petersen, Bethany Petersen, Kara (Matt) Rosenbaum, Amanda Brouwer, Adam Brouwer and Eddie Hartson; seventeen great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jacob, Justice, Dezirae, Kylie, Riley, A.J., Austin, Nathan, Lauren, Nolan, Theo, Ethan, Everett, Jackson, Taylor, and Ava; seven great-great-grandchildren, Layla, Olivia, Bentley, Cameron, Montana, Vincent, and Elliott; and son-in-law, Larry Bond of Sumner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; two daughters, Kristy Ogilve and Lynette Bond; granddaughter, Lora Brouwer; sister (brother-in-law) Geneva (Robert) Smith; and son-in-law, Larry Goodwin.
