Two dead in Northern Iowa head-on auto crash

RURAL HARDIN COUNTY – A Texas man and an Iowa man both died in a head-on auto crash.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on September 9, 2024. At 3:45 PM that day, a 2016 Ford Edge driven by 31-year-old Tevin Williams of Paris, Texas, was traveling northbound on county road D15, just north of 120th Street, in Hardin county. At the same time, a 2024 Isuzu NQR (a medium-duty commercial truck) driven by 74-year-old Steven Kramer of Waterloo, was traveling southbound on D15. The vehcilces struck each other head-on.

As a result of the collision, both Williams and Kramer were killed.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Patrol was assisted by the Hardin county sheriff’s office, Hardin county emergency management and emergency squad, Ackley Fire, Eldora EMS, Dave’s Towing, and Sietsema Funeral Home.
