June 4, 1949 – January 21, 2026

Polly Vivian Bellinghausen, 76, of Plymouth, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, under the loving care of her daughter and granddaughter.

Polly was born on June 4, 1949, in Blaine, Kentucky, to Mart and Clustina (Daniels) Moore and grew up with three brothers and three sisters. On December 20, 1969, she married Ronald Bellinghausen, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family. Their children—Lori, Ron Jr., Penny, Fawn, and Kandrea “Kandi”—were the center of their lives and brought them immense joy.

In 1970, Polly and Ron moved to Eldora, Iowa, where they owned Hardin Builders Construction and the Eldora Hotel and Lounge with Maidrite. In 1982, they relocated to Mason City and opened Ron’s Pawn Shop. Polly stood beside Ron in every venture, offering her unwavering support, strength, and care.

Above all, Polly’s greatest joy and purpose was caring for her beloved special-needs daughter, Kandi. She devoted her heart, strength, and every day to ensuring Kandi always felt loved, supported, and celebrated. Her patience, compassion, and selfless devotion defined her as a mother and a woman of extraordinary kindness.

A gifted seamstress, Polly owned Etc. & Sew On, creating custom garments for weddings, proms, and home décor, each piece crafted with care and pride.

After Ron’s passing in 2001, Polly found comfort and companionship in her special friend, Roger “Buster” Marsh, who became a cherished part of her later years.

Polly’s warmth, strength, and generosity touched everyone she met. She was the heart of her family and to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was lovingly “Mamaw,” a role she filled with love, guidance, and laughter. Her legacy of compassion and devotion will live on through all who knew her.

She is survived by her children—Lori (Tom) Timson, Ron Bellinghausen Jr., Penny (Dave Schlute) Hammer, and Fawn Bellinghausen; her sister, Charlotte (James) Bishop; grandchildren: Lexxis Bellinghausen, Brooke Berding, Elizabeth Ridge, Jimmy Ray, and Bobby Timson; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Bellinghausen, in 2001; her daughter, Kandi Bellinghausen, in 2016; her special friend, Roger “Buster” Marsh, in 2025; her parents, Mart and Clustina Moore; and most of her siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. SE, Mason City. Following the service, family and friends are invited to Willow Run Lounge, 2821 Fourth St. SW, Mason City, to celebrate her life.
