MASON CITY – The soul-sucking spell of the scourge known as methamphetamine has once again drug this Mason City woman into the local jail.

NIT previously reported that on January 26, 2021, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Department stopped 42-year-old Angela Marie Rasmussen of Mason City in a stolen 2007 White Volkswagen Jetta after leaving 320 24th S.W. in Mason City. Rasmussen was arrested and charged with operating without owners consent (an aggravated misdemeanor), possession of controlled substance (Methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor), driving under suspension (a simple misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Later, the operating without owners consent charge was dropped, but Rasmussen was guilty on the meth possession charge and sentenced to 2 days in jail and a bill owed to Iowa courts totaling $1,229.00.

Rasmussen was nabbed by the Iowa State Patrol on December 28 and charged with the following crimes:

  • 124.414 – Possess Drug Paraphernalia

Rasmussen (pictured at top) was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail and released the very same day as she awaits a January 16, 2026 court date.
