David Keith Tenold was born June 19, 1948, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the son of Reuben and Opal (Butler) Tenold. He grew up on the family farm in rural Worth County and graduated from Northwood High School with the Class of 1966. Following college, David spent time setting up hospital kitchen menus throughout the Midwest. He later worked at Carroll George, Grand Central Cabinets, as an electrician, and most recently as the friendly and dependable maintenance man at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. Throughout his life, he remained closely connected to the family farm.
On May 29, 1976, David married the love of his life, Marge Reyerson, at First Lutheran Church in Northwood.
David proudly served his community as a member of the Northwood Fire Department, Northwood City Council, and the Endowment Board at Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, golfing and fishing with friends and family, lutefisk dinners, and classic cars—especially his rebuilt 1956—and had the skills to fix just about anything. He was a devoted Hawkeye fan. David cherished traveling with Marge and especially treasured the simple, everyday moments they shared together.
David is survived by his wife, Marge, of Northwood; son, Mike Brunsvold, of Northwood; brother, Lynn Tenold (Mindy), of Northwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Opal Tenold; son, Todd Brunsvold; brothers, Robert and Dennis Tenold; and parents-in-law, Maurice and Dorothy Reyerson.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
