Pauline B. Rumeliote, 104, of Mason City, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at home with her family by her side.
Per Pauline’s wishes, her body has been cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Pauline was born on August 2, 1921, the daughter of Harvey and Blanche Sisson Wood, from Clear Lake, IA. She married Tom Rumeliote January 27, 1943. He preceded her in 1990.
After high school, she cashiered at the National Tea Store. After marriage, her life was spent being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. On Mondays, she operated the cafe of the Mason City Auction Co. that her husband owned and operated. Together, they also ran a horse riding academy for many years.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Barbara Rinnels of Mason City; son, Tom Rumeliote of Eagan, MN; former daughter-in-law, Pat Rumeliote of Mason City; grandchildren: Mike and Cindy Rumeliote, Michelle and Bob Nuerhing, Matt Rumeliote, Monty and Karen Rumeliote, Kyla and Shane Servantez, Tena and Jim Cota, Ara Rumeliote, and Ian Rumeliote; great-grandchildren: Madison, Taylor, Thomas, Cambree, Cole, Jade, Jakki, Jasmine, Destiny, Zoey, Zander, Mia, Ethan, Korbin, and Keller; eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; her son, Bill; her grandson, Mark; son-in-law, Gary Rinnels; daughter-in-law, Nancy; brothers: Dale Wood and Wayne and Theone Wood; sisters: Kathryn and Jerry Lasowski, Arlene and Sterling Barber, and Barbara and Les Davis; brothers-in-law: Costa and Luella Rumeliote, and Ted and Joan Rumeliote.
