FORT DODGE – These two young Fort Dodge men allegedly beat and threatened with a gun a teen boy, and now police have handed down a slew of felony charges for each.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 5:15 AM, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of an assault that had taken place and dispatched officers to 1414 2nd Ave S to investigate.

When officers arrived at the residence, they located a 17-year-old juvenile male that had sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault. Officers on scene spoke to the victim and it was discovered that threats were made involving firearms. A description of the suspects as well as the vehicle that they were traveling in, was passed on to officers.
Later that morning, an officer located the suspect vehicle occupied behind an apartment complex in the 2800 block 10th Ave. N. The occupant in the driver’s seat took off running but was quickly apprehended. The passenger in the vehicle fled the scene on foot and was not immediately located. Officers and detectives with the criminal investigation division were able to identify the occupant that fled the scene. A search warrant was obtained and executed at 2809 10th Ave N in Fort Dodge and the second suspect was located and taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation thus far, two arrests have been made on the following individuals on the listed charges:

Riley J. Camden 18 years old of Fort Dodge

▪️Trafficking Stolen Weapons (D Felony)
▪️Assault in Violation of Individual Rights with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury (D Felony)
▪️Persons Ineligible to carry Dangerous Weapons (Serious Misdemeanor)
▪️Public Intoxication (Simple Misdemeanor)

Dylan B. Crawford 18 years old of Fort Dodge
▪️Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
▪️Interference with Official Acts Armed with a Firearm (D Felony)
▪️Assault in Violation of Individual Rights with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury (D Felony)
Based on the investigation to this point, it is believed by police that this was a targeted, isolated incident and not a random act of violence. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on this incident. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police.
