President Trump would love to be commended for his peace efforts.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thailand and Cambodia have been fighting a vicious war near their borders in Southeast Asia, killing dozens, but today, U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced that after his personal involvement, the guns are quiet and peace has been restored.

“Just spoke to the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand and Prime Minister of Cambodia,” President Donald J. Trump announced this morning. “I am pleased to announce that, after the involvement of President Donald J. Trump, both Countries have reached a CEASEFIRE and PEACE… I am proud to be the President of PEACE!”

Weighing in on the matter, Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed:

“The United States applauds the ceasefire declaration between Cambodia and Thailand announced today in Kuala Lumpur. President Trump and I are committed to an immediate cessation of violence and expect the governments of Cambodia and Thailand to fully honor their commitments to end this conflict. We are grateful to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his leadership and for hosting the ceasefire talks. We urge all parties to follow through on their commitments. The United States will remain committed to and engaged in this U.S.-Malaysia-organized process to end this conflict.”

Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State

Thailand and Cambodia have been engaged in border clashes stemming from a long-standing dispute over their shared frontier, particularly concerning areas around ancient temples like Preah Vihear and Ta Muen Thom. The most recent escalation began on Thursday, July 24, 2025, after a landmine explosion along the border wounded five Thai soldiers.

The conflict has resulted in a significant number of casualties and displacements. Reports vary slightly, but generally indicate that at least 35 to 36 people have died on both sides. This includes both soldiers and civilians. Additionally, the fighting has displaced more than 260,000 to 300,000 people from their homes along the border.

As of Monday, July 28, 2025, the two countries have agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, effective at midnight, during a meeting hosted by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This breakthrough came after international pressure, including from President Trump.

          1. By building a wall that Mexico would pay for, and that hasn’t happened either. ICE did raid and haul off half the workforce of a meatpacking plant in Nebraska, though, which will probably put them out of business. So much for being pro-business. That company uses e-Verify, which is supposed to check the immigration status of applicants, which means that ICE isn’t checking. They’re just abducting brown-skinned people, like the Nazis they are.

            1. Didn’t need a wall, just enforce the laws we have. Bet they survive. e-verify checks social security numbers, doesn’t know if they are stolen. Not abducting anybody, arresting illegals who have committed a crime. Nazi’s terrorized Jews,
              haven’t seen any illegal Jews

                1. If they came across the border illegally…that is breaking the law.
Wonder why there was no outcry when Obama deported appx 3 million?

                  1. You, I am sure, can drive. You probably speed at times, therefore, you are breaking the law. Is it on your record? No, but because you illegally speed, you are a criminal. At least, in your way of thinking.
