Bryan Andrew Miller was born December 4, 1958, in Winona, Minnesota, son of Charles and Mona (née DeReu) Miller. He graduated from Nora Springs – Rock Falls High School and studied Agriculture and Light Industrial Technologies at NIACC.
Bryan was a hard worker and had a storied career as a mechanic, an HVAC technician (later in sales and system design), and most recently expressed his entrepreneurial spirit by operating a lawn care business. He would always pick up the phone and spend an hour helping family, friends, and colleagues troubleshoot any issue. Bryan had too many projects to list – renovating homes and repairing equipment were some of his favorites.
Bryan was a devoted husband, father, and a doting ”Papa” who loved spending time with all of his grandchildren. His legacy lives on through his family, for whom he imbued a love of mechanics and a desire to create. Bryan attended St. Peter Lutheran Church in Rockwell and sang in the choir.
Bryan is survived by his loving wife, Mary Etta Miller of Rockwell, with whom he shared fifteen wonderful years of memories, and by his children: Benjamin (Amanda) Miller of Pleasant Hill, Emily (Alex) Marashian of San Diego, California and Zachary (Sandra) Miller of Los Alamos, New Mexico, from his former marriage to Jeannine Perry (née Foote). He is also survived by mother-in-law Joan Petersen; stepchildren: Amanda (Jason) Smith of Rockwell, Alicia (Matt) Vaughn of Rockwell, Joseph (Karen) Sturges of Rockwell and Ryan Sturges of Rockwell; grandchildren: Elliott, Wren, Welles, William, Finley, Kaylee, Lane, Liam, Evie, Gavin, Alivia and Jase; great-grandson Oliver; siblings: Brad Miller of Indianola, Barbara (Tim) Quam of Mason City, Carla (Ken) Wilde of Rochester, Minnesota and Dave (Tasha) Cooper of Indianola; along with numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Bella.
