Two persons hurt and $25,000 damages in Charles City when ambulance rear ends Dodge Ram pickup

CHARLES CITY – A two-vehicle accident in Charles City sent two persons to the hospital and caused upwards of $25,000 in damages.

The accident took place on November 8, 2024. At 10:27 AM that morning, officers with the Charles City police department went to the 2000 block of Rockford Road for a two-vehicle accident. Police say a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup operated by 60-year-old Annamarie Nichols of Greene was attempting to make a left turn when it was rear ended by a 2023 Ford Econoline E350 ambulance operated by 32 year old Timothy Reece of Rockford.

As a result of the collision, two persons that police did not identify were transported by AMR Ambulance Service to the Floyd County Medical Center for their injuries. Police say there was approximately $20,000 in damage done to he ambulance and $5000 in damage to the Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Assisting the Charles City police department at the scene was the Floyd County sheriff’s department, Charles City fire department and AMR Ambulance Service.
