WAUKEE – Iowans are primed to flock into the newest Target store opening this weekend in a Des Moines suburb.
Target will open a gigantic new store on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Waukee, Iowa. The store, located at 900 SE Laurel Street, is pictured at the top of this story and is over 148,000 square feet in size. Workers and landscapers were on the site Wednesday morning priming and primping the grounds, like a middle-aged woman getting ready for another hopeless date. Waukee is now Iowa’s fastest-growing city, with new developments being announced almost daily. As the roads and neighborhoods become more crowded, shopping and eateries fill the manicured four-lane roads. Hoards of dizzy housewives clutching their husband’s credit cards in their taloned, sweaty palms race around the community in minivans, craving these new venues. The lust to swipe their plastic over and over seems to overwhelm them, keeping their balances soaring and mates’ blood pressure high. This new Target store will be an ideal place for the busy bodies to gather and buy lots of stuff and junk they really do not need, but think they do, because swiping plastic and counting points fills the bottomless pits in their souls.
This new Target store will employ over 100 people. Services include Drive Up, Order Pickup and same-day delivery with Target Circle 360. The store also features an Apple at Target, CVS Pharmacy, Disney at Target, Starbucks Café and Ulta Beauty at Target. Target says it “features one of our largest food footprints built for our new stores.”
Store operating hours will be 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
