DES MOINES – A contract between the Iowa Department of Education and a New York company that manages Kim Reynolds’ educational savings accounts program has seen costs double, according to a report from the state auditor.
Some say Kim Reynolds and Republicans are gutting rural public education in Iowa and part of their strategy are these educational savings programs (vouchers) for use at private schools, and the cost to do this is skyrocketing, the state’s top watchdog points out.
