MASON CITY – Two elderly female drivers were hurt in a Mason City auto collision Tuesday evening.

On July 9th, 2024, at 7:35 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to East State Street and South Tennessee Avenue in Mason City for a minor two vehicle collision. A 2021 Ford Escape, driven by Barbara Cassady, 74, of Mason City failed to yield the right of way to a 2011 Ford Edge, driven by Peggy Boehmer, 64, of Mason City. The Ford Edge struck the passenger side of the Ford Escape.

Both drivers sustained minor injury but neither one was transported for medical care.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mason City Police Department and Mason City Fire Department.
