Our Father, Edwin Leon Koehn was born to Herman and Hannah Jantz Koehn on February 26, 1937 at Cimarron, Kansas. He went to his eternal reward on May 13, 2024 at his home in Chester, Iowa surrounded by loved ones reaching the age of 87.

At the age of 15 Dad answered the call and committed his life to the Lord. He was baptized on April 2, 1952 by Minister Edward Jantz at Winton, California. He was faithful to these vows until the end.

Dad met our mother, Rosie Redger, at Moundridge, Kansas. They were married on November 30, 1956 at Durham, Kansas by Minister Claude Unruh enjoying 56 years together until the Lord saw fit to call mom home on July 9, 2013.

Dad was called to the service of the Ministry and was ordained on February 21, 1972 at the Winton, CA congregation, serving many years before accepting an invitation from McIntire, Iowa. They made the move to Iowa in 1996 to farm/ranch where he faithfully shepherded the Heartland congregation, continuing to be concerned and interested in his congregation even after his retirement.

Dad spent his early childhood years in Cimarron, Kansas, moving to the Winton area as a young lad. Dad worked at various jobs until after his ordination when he purchased an almond orchard and became a farmer.

Devotions were precious to him, rising early and lighting a candle for his alone time with God.

Dad prayed for his family often, especially mentioning those that he was burdened for. We as a family have various memories, especially camping in the mountains of California.

Those left to mourn are his eight children, Kent and Marie Koehn, Riceville, IA; Rodney and Connie Loewen, Clarksdale, MS; Ron and Karen Ensz, Chester, IA; Ed and Brenda Goucher, Paris, TX; Wendall and Verna Koehn, Stover, MO; Tom and Patty Giesbrecht, Stover, MO; Tim and Donna Koehn, Stover, MO; Ronald and Angela Koehn, Chester, IA; 25 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law. Our parents had a special place in their heart for Sherry (Goucher) Loewen and Dan Clemmer.

He was preceded in death by our mother, one grandson, Craig Ensz, one granddaughter, Kayla Giesbrecht, and one great granddaughter, Lexi Giesbrecht, one infant sister, 2 brothers, 8 sisters-in-law and 10 brothers-in-law.
