Joel “Joe” Robert Logan Sr. , 75, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
Joe was born October 20, 1948 in Mason City, son of Martin and Elvera (Plagge) Logan. He graduated from Mason City High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. For thirty years, he worked diligently for UPS as a delivery driver. Joe was united in marriage to Roxanne Mills; to this union they were blessed with two sons, Joel Jr. and Matthew. Following their separation, Joe was later united in marriage to Debra Hicks in 1988.
Joe was an all around athlete; as of late golf was one of his favorite pastimes. Family was very important to him and he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. His grandchildren will sorely miss his snow cones. Friends and family will remember him most for his sense of humor and quick wit. When he had the chance he also enjoyed going fishing now and again.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Deb; sons, Joel (Melody Olson) Logan Jr., and Matthew (Laura) Logan; grandchildren, Presley, Nick, Charlie, Emily, Brook, and Abby; step-son, Garrett (Celeste) Johnson; step-grandchildren, Cadence and Keenan; brothers, Randy (Theresa) Logan, Brian (Nancy) Logan, and Brent Logan; brother-in-law, Rick Delmonico; sister-in-law, Merrie Lee Logan; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Ronald and James; and sister Nancy Delmonico.
