Rose was born April 20, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa; youngest of nine children, Charles and Mary Rose (Rizzuti) Amodeo. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. On January 21, 1961 she married the love of her life, Vere Kelly, in Des Moines at the St. Anthony Catholic Church. To this union two daughters were born, Gina and Lynda. Rose spent a number of years working for A.C Nielson. After retirement, she worked for Lundberg Clothing Store.

Rose had been an enduring member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and actively participated in the St. Ann Circle. Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She exuded a strong work ethic from an early age, and it continued well into her 70’s at various Mason City businesses. Along with her husband, Vere, Rose enjoyed the ‘Big Bands’ at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake – dancing to the music of their generation. Golf was a favorite pastime as well. She enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country – enjoying each trip for the experiences it provided. Rose radiated a gentle kindness and warmth to all she met.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gina (Randy) Price of South Carolina and Lynda (Paul) DiMarco of Waverly; grandchildren, Michael (Holly) DiMarco and Nicholas DiMarco; great-grandchildren, Leo, Luca, and Siena; step-grandchild, Houston (Courtney) Price and their children, Grant and Maddie; brother-in-law, Larry (Jan) Kelly; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Vere; parents Charles and Mary; and siblings, Bapiste Amodeo, Joseph Amodeo, Annie Cioccio, Victoria Cordaro, Carmella Carter, Mary Scavo, Louis Amodeo, and Josephine Amodeo.
