A memorial service for Allen will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. A meal will take place following the service at AK’s Chrome Kitchen. His family will begin greeting friends at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at Oakcrest.
Allen Charles Christianson was born February 22, 1987 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in Colorado Springs and his path took him to Algona when he was in 8th grade. Following school, Allen was a dedicated individual who devoted his life to the art of masonry and construction. He was a highly skilled individual and took great pride in his work. His talent and dedication were evident in every project. He was currently working for EM Construction.
Allen’s life transformed with the arrival of his daughter, Zyliegh, on February 14, 2013. His world revolved around her, and the bond they shared illuminated his days with happiness and purpose.
Allen enjoyed the simple things in life. He found joy in the thrill of RC cars, the tranquility of camping, and the beauty of nature. He had an adventurous spirit and a passion for traveling. Allen had an appreciation for fashion, loved to dress well, but most importantly, loved his shoes. Allen had a witty, sarcastic sense of humor, finding joy in making lighthearted and sometimes silly jokes. His laughter was infectious. Music had a significant place in Allen’s life, and he had a diverse taste that ranged from beats of rap to the timeless melodies of John Denver. He had a genuine affection for little kids and loved creating memorable interactions. Allen was very generous and always willing to help someone in need. He was known for his friendly nature, Allen effortlessly connected with everyone he encountered.
Allen died Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was 36.
He is survived by his daughter, Zyliegh Mai Love Christianson; father, Gary Christianson; mother, Patricia Christianson; grandmother, Judy Thornton; sister, Crystal Christianson; nephews and niece, Carson, David, William and Jessy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death are maternal grandparents, Jim and Irma Chase; paternal grandfather, Ron Christianson, and uncle, Jeff Monaghan.
