SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Two former Iowa prep stars, Keegan Murray and Harrison Barnes, helped lead the upstart Sacramento Kings to a huge opening night win over the Utah Jazz by scoring 48 total points.
Barnes opened the game by making his first 8 shots on is way to a big 33 points, and Murray added four 3-pointers with 15 total points and 8 rebounds.
Keegan Murray, out of Cedar Rapids and a former Iowa Hawkeye, is in his second season in the NBA and many are predicting a big leap in his abilities. He is focused on improving his physicality and appears more bulked up.
Harrison Barnes, out of Ames, Iowa and a former North Carolina Tar Heel, is in his 11th season and aims to continue to be a big contributor on a high-level team after years in Golden State.
Things do not get easier for the Kings, as they next travel to Golden State Friday night to face the Warriors and Steph Curry.
