CEDAR FALLS – UNI men’s basketball will open the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) schedule at home in late November and host ten league games inside the McLeod Center this season, as the conference released its 20-game schedule for the 2023-24 season on Friday morning. Tip times for all scheduled games are yet to be announced.
The Panthers will begin their 24th season as an MVC member by hosting Belmont on Nov. 29 in the first of two early conference matchups. UNI will head to Evansville to take on the Purple Aces on Dec. 2 for its second early league game.
Following the New Year’s holiday, the Panthers will visit Springfield, Missouri to take on the Missouri State Bears on Jan. 3, before returning home to battle Indiana State and UIC on Jan. 7 and Jan. 10. The Panthers head south to take on Murray State on Jan. 14 and return to Nashville for a second straight year to face Belmont on Jan. 17.
After hosting Southern Illinois and Evansville, UNI will hit the road for a pair of key matchups against the top-two teams in the league from a year ago. The Panthers visit the defending MVC Tournament champions in Drake on Jan. 27 in Des Moines, before heading to Peoria to challenge the reigning conference regular season champions in Bradley on Jan. 31.
February kicks off with UNI hosting both Murray State and Missouri State in consecutive home contests, followed by a two-game road trip to UIC and Valparaiso. Bradley will make its return trip to Cedar Falls on Feb. 18 ahead of UNI’s Feb. 21 contest against Illinois State in Normal.
The Panthers will close the conference slate hosting Drake on Feb. 24 and Valparaiso on Feb. 27, before a final road trip to Southern Illinois to face the Salukis on March 3. The State Farm MVC Men’s Basketball Tournament, popularly known as Arch Madness, returns to St. Louis for its 33rd year and 29th overall year at Enterprise Center, March 7-10.
