Police in Fort Dodge investigating unresponsive man found in park with throat laceration

FORT DODGE – A man was found unconscious in a Fort Dodge park with a throat laceration, and police are trying to find out what happened to him.

On Sunday, July 30th, at approximately 7:03 A.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a report of an unresponsive male laying on the ground in Snell Crawford Park. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department and members of the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a male that had sustained what appeared to be a laceration to the throat but was still alive. The male was treated on scene by medics and transported to Unity Point Trinity Regional Hospital. Investigators were called in to assist with the crime scene and investigation.

Investigators and patrol officers are continuing to gather information at this point. As of this press release, the victim is in stable condition. The males name will not be released at this time until we are certain that all of his family have been properly notified.
