SWEA CITY – Police raided a Northern Iowa house with a child inside and nabbed a convicted domestic abuser armed with several guns and illegal drugs.
The Kossuth County sheriff’s office says that on March 6, 2023, the they executed a search warrant at 205 7th Street South in Swea City. As a result of the search warrant, 25-year-old Felipe Garza was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
Deputies seized several firearms, which Garza is prohibited from possessing, along with marijuana THC cartridges and drug paraphernalia. Because there are minor children that live at the residence, DHS was contacted to open an investigation.
Felipe Garza was transported to the Kossuth County Jail and was charged with:
Possession of a short barrel rifle (Class D Felony)
Possession of Firearms by Domestic Offender (Class D Felony)
Child Endangerment (Class D Felony)
Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana (Class D Felony)
Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp (Class D Felony)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).
This case remains under investigation with future charges pending.
Garza remains in the Kossuth county jail.
