OELWEIN – A Northern Iowa couple was arrested in a traffic stop for drunk driving and illegal drug possession.
On February 12, 2023, at approximately 2:10 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at the intersection of 1st Avenue NE and 5th Street NE, Oelwein, Iowa. After an investigation, a search was conducted of the vehicle and illegal substances were found and seized. Kashell Elexsis Allison, age 29 of Oelwein, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense (D felony) and operating while intoxicated 2nd offense (aggravated misdemeanor). Tylor Andrew Richmond, age 31 of West Union, was arrested and charges with Possession of a controlled substance marijuana 1st offense (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor).
Richmond and Allison were taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where they were held until initial appearance. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office and Oelwein Police Department.
