MILWAUKEE, WI – Iowa State defeated LSU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 59-54, Friday.
Iowa State led most of the game and built a 12-point lead in the first half. The defensive struggle led to a 24-19 lead at halftime.
Tyrese Hunter’s 23 points led Iowa State. He hit a he 3-pointer late in the game to seal the victory.
Iowa State plays Wisconsin on Sunday for a spot in the Sweet 16. Iowa State won just 2 games last season.
