MASON CITY – The sanitary sewer improvement project is progressing.
The water main portion of the project at this location has been completed. Work continues on the sanitary sewer and storm sewer construction.
Lane closings will continue at the following locations:
*Southbound lane of South Jersey Avenue at 5th Street SE (Highway 122) – there will be alley access on the 500 block of South Jersey Avenue
*Northbound and southbound lanes of Delaware Avenue at 5th Street SE (Highway 122)
*South lane of westbound 5th Street SE (Highway 122)
Traffic on 5th Street SE (Highway 122) will be restricted to one lane from South Jersey Avenue to just west of Delaware Avenue.
Please exercise caution while traveling near or in the work zone. Expect congestion and delays around this area while the street is under construction. Be watchful of construction workers and equipment if you are traveling near the work zone. Motorists are urged to avoid traveling in this area and plan an alternate to local businesses in this construction area if possible. Staff apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
