Allan Joseph Hestness, 63, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 29, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Allan was born on June 22, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Jerry and Dorothy (Zrostlik) Hestness. He was employed at Curries for more than 42 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
In his free time, Allan enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows. He had a love for animals, especially his cats, and found joy in listening to rock music. Allan was a devoted sports fan who proudly rooted for the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.
In honor of Allan’s love for cats, memorials may be directed to a local cat rescue or animal welfare organization of the donor’s choice.
Those left to cherish memories of Allan are his mom, Dorothy; his siblings, Debbie (Roger) Tack, Greg Hestness, and Mark (Kristi) Hestness; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
