DES MOINES – State Senator Amanda Ragan of Mason City is working with the other members of the Iowa Legislature to address one of the biggest problems facing Iowa: the state’s workforce crisis.
“Too many Iowa businesses struggle to hire employees, including our schools and even our hospitals. It’s a statewide workforce crisis must be addressed,” said Ragan. “Iowa must expand apprenticeships, career training and technical education, while making childcare and housing more available and affordable.”
“I will continue to fight for the people and the interest of North Iowa at the Iowa Statehouse.”
Senator Ragan is the Iowa Senate Democratic Whip. She serves on these committees in the Iowa Senate: Agriculture; Appropriations; Human Resources, Rules and Administration, and Veterans Affairs. She is also the Ranking Member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.
Senator Ragan was raised near Rockwell and now lives in Mason City. She is involved in organizations throughout North Iowa and is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.
A graduate of Rockwell-Swaledale High School, Senator Ragan earned an A.A. Degree from North Iowa Area Community College and later graduated with honors from Buena Vista University with a B.A. in Human Services.
Senator Ragan is married to Jim Ragan, a retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Colonel. She has two grown children, Edith and Charles, and four grandchildren.

DEMOCRATS ARE STUPID!
My mom use to say, you are either part of the solution or part of the problem.
If you are a democrat YOU ARE THE PROBLEM
Truth be there is a fair amount of discrimination going on. Gender based, cultural based, or take your pick based as people. The pre screening process for most jobs is filled with obstacles that prevent employment. But the biggest by far problem is a pecking order discrimination ‘policy’ that will never be vetted out. It’s not the best person for the job its the ‘best fit’ for the people hiring. They assume they are right in how they select the right candidate. When in reality they are cheats. Such is the nature of close minded country bumpkins. If cheating makes it so they ‘win’ they do it without another conscious thought. Harping about programs to help is just more ‘fluff’ to protect a ‘systematic pecking order discrimination policy’ that is being used in northern Iowa. Flunkies in action. Cheats!
You must have been passed over for another job you were not qualified for.
