WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve King released the following statement after submitting seven amendments to the omnibus spending bill:
“During the November election, all Republicans including President Trump vowed to uphold our Constitution, cut spending and listen to the American people,” said King. “The 2017 omnibus spending bill provides Congress the unique opportunity to uphold those promises and that is why I have introduced 7 separate amendments to the omnibus spending bill.
For years, the American people have been demanding that we defund DACA and DAPA, ObamaCare, Planned Parenthood, the Iran Nuclear Deal, sanctuary cities and strike out any expansion of H-2B visas. Furthermore, we must provide the funding for a wall in order to secure our borders. Republicans and all of Congress must be held responsible for election promises made and thus, I believe these amendments should be brought to the House floor for a vote. Today, I am putting the marker down on where I stand, and I challenge my colleagues to do the same.
This is our opportunity to put American people’s priorities at the forefront of the House’s legislative agenda, and I am hopeful we can turn the page and start fresh.”
Mr. King’s Seven Amendments to the omnibus spending bill:
1. Defund President Obama’s DACA, DAPA programs.
4. Defund President Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal.
5. Defund all sanctuary cities.
If this is not double talk He has my vote next time – I see like the voting ballot that does not say incumbent on it anymore these law makers don’t associate their party ? We know most all of them are corporate owned and go where ever the money trail leads – SAD ! and an injustice to hard working patriots.

It sure looks to me like King is just doing what he was elected to do. The voters voted him in on these issues and he is doing what the asked for. Snowflakes may not like it but they lost.

The fact is he has voted as he said he would all during his term. He will be more effective with the majority. He was even a no vote on the first Trump health care plan.
