AMES – Iowa State senior point guard Monté Morris has been nominated for the Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches Good Works Team. Morris is one of 181 nominees to the team. This esteemed award honors an outstanding group of student-athletes who represent the sport’s finest in the areas of community service and leadership among their peers.
Among Morris’ community service activities were his role in Hy-Vee’s donation of 11 trucks full of drinking water to his hometown of Flint, Michigan, which is currently in the midst of a water crisis. Morris has also volunteered with Wounded Warriors and Special Olympics among other things.
With his nomination, Morris is eligible for consideration to be named to the 2017 Allstate NABC Good Works Team, which will be selected in February.
