CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was taken to jail for domestic assault.
The incident took place on May 6, at about 11:37 PM, when police officers responded to a domestic incident. Officers arrived at the 600 block of Third Avenue to investigate. A suspect had left the scene by the time the officers arrived.
However, 26-year-old Alan Campbell was soon located in the 1800 block of Rolfing Street. He was arrested there for first-offense domestic abuse assault, a simple misdemeanor, and taken to jail. A few days later, a judge lifted a no-contact order in the case. Campbell awaits a June 10 hearing.
