MASON CITY – Gay? Gray?  There’s a program just for you coming to Mason City next week.

One Iowa Executive Director Donna Red Wing will speak about One Iowa’s Gay & Gray in the Midwest program at the January meeting of One Iowa North, a regional affiliate based in Mason City. The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Mason City on Monday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.

Gay & Gray in the Midwest aims to eliminate homophobia and transphobia that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender elders face.

“Our work and our research tells us that there are extraordinary opportunities and challenges for our aging community, especially in rural areas,” Red Wing said. “LGBT elders are the architects of the movement for equality. Many are living lives that benefit from that struggle. Others, however, are going back into the closet, afraid because of their circumstances, vulnerabilities and accommodations.”

This will be the second meeting of One Iowa North since it became a regional affiliate of One Iowa late last year. The organization was previously an LGBT support group.

“The One Iowa North chapter is pleased to host One Iowa Executive Director Donna Red Wing and invite the community to hear her valuable message regarding the organization’s “Gay and Gray in the Midwest” initiatives and advocacy,” Dean Genth, a One Iowa North leader, said.

an abomination unto the Lord

like prejudice and intolerance?

This comment from one of the biggest gossips here. Always critical, always judgmental so this latest post is character. Remember that God forgives you in the same measure that you forgive others.

If all people would just take care of their own business and not analyze, criticize and judge others their lives would be so much better.
