WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former U.S. Representative Tom Latham announced today that he has lymphoma.
Mr. Latham made the announcement Wednesday via social media. He served in Congress from 1995 to 2015 as a Republican representative for Iowa’s 5th, 4th and 3rd districts. He retired last year.
“Many of you have been good friends and supporters for years, so I wanted to share some news with you,” Mr. Latham said. “Recently, I was diagnosed with a form of lymphoma.”
In a positive message, Mr. Latahm said “We are working with a great team of doctors and have a treatment plan in place. I am very confident that with their help I will beat this and be back to full speed soon.
“I have never lost an election and I am not going to lose this battle either!”
He thanked supporters for “your positive thoughts and prayers. I want you to know I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.”
