MASON CITY – A Mason City man and convicted ecstasy dealer was caught drunk driving early Sunday and police discovered illegal drugs.
A Mason City police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near 12th Street NE and Kentucky Avenue at 2:24 AM. During the ensuing investigation, the driver, 25-year-old Jacob Ballmer, was found to be intoxicated. Illegal substances and drug paraphernalia were also discovered in the search.
Ballmer – who claims to be a chef at the Quarry – was arrested. He was charged with first offense operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ballmer is a convicted felon for dealing the illicit drug ecstasy, court records show. He’s been on probation since his guilty plea back in 2012. He was also caught drunk driving in Franklin county back in 2010.
