Mason City woman accused of stealing jeans at mall

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was caught trying to steal jeans at Southbridge Mall and taken to jail.

Mason city police were called to The Buckle inside Southbridge Mall Saturday just after noon. Sarah Sue Schilling, age 35, allegedly stole two pair of jeans from The Buckle on worth approx $300.00 total. Schilling was arrested and charged with fourth-degree theft because the value of the jeans was between $200.00 and $500.00. She was jailed and soon released, pending a court date.

Schilling pled guilty in August in Floyd county to a charge of fifth degree theft. She owns the entire $340.94 in fines and court fees she was ordered to pay; that balance is now in debt collection.
