MASON CITY – A fire was reported Tuesday at the abandoned Croell Redi-Mix plant in Mason City.
The location of the fire was at 620 North Massachusetts Avenue, around 5 PM. Mason City police and firefighters were on the scene until well beyond that time.
Mason City police said that insulation was burning inside the abandoned facility. Neighbors on the scene explained they hadn’t seen any smoke, however.
Those same neighbors also said there has been an on-going problem with trespassers there. Thre was no immediate word on how much damage, if any, had taken place.
