MASON CITY – A North Iowa woman who was accused of bestiality in 2009 entered a guilty plea to animal cruelty this week – as did her mother.

Beth Schreiber, age 40, and Kelly Miles, age 57, both were accused of 6 counts of animal cruelty by the Kanawha, Iowa police department.

According to a source, the 6 dogs who were abused “were severely flea infested – covered in open sores one of them had been kicked and beaten repeatedly. They were all in pretty sad shape.” The alleged abuse took place in October of 2014. They were turned over to the Patriots for Pets (an animal-friendly pet adoption center) for safe-keeping in the aftermath of the abuse.

Due to what Patriots for Pets described as the “City of Kanawha … moving forward with this case and seeing it through to the end” both women entered guilty pleas on February 11, 2015.

Neither woman will be able to “own, shelter, harbor or possess a dog” for 5 years as a result of the guilty plea.

“It doesn’t change the suffering the dogs went through, but for the next five years, keep any other dog from having to go through what they went through,” Patriots for Pets explained.

The charges against Schreiber and Miles were based upon the neglect shown to 6 dogs: Geronimo, Marley, Air Buddy, Dixie, Lilly and Sparky. NIT is told that all 6 dogs have “been adopted and are in loving homes who are taking care of the emotional aftermath”.

Schreiber was accused in 2008 of three counts of bestiality, by the Hancock county sheriff’s department. She pleaded guilty to one count and was given a suspended jail sentence and a suspended fine along with a year of probation.

Toofless!

Unbelievable. How can someone be so cruel? This makes me sick to my stomach. Beating a defenseless animal. These women deserve a beating. I hope they rot in hell for this.

By the looks of these two old queens, I’m surprised they even got the dogs to do anything with them.

These women are just sick. Only few years ago, one of them plead guilty to bestiality. And, then the recent treatment of these 6 precious little dogs is just beyond the pale.

God bless the people who have adopted them and are helping them deal with all of the trauma.

There really is no punishment to fit the crime…
