MASON CITY – A Mason City man facing theft and drug charges was jailed for violating his pre-trial release.
Ryan Thomas Swanson, age 31, stands accused of 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree theft at this time, as well as drug possession charges and a charge of interference with official acts causing bodily injury. He had been released from jail conditionally after he had been arrested by Mason City police on December 11. A warrant for his arrest had been issued on January 6.
Early Friday morning, after 3:10 AM, Mason City police officers checked on a suspicious subject at 524 6th Street SE. Swanson was located there and was arrested. Swanson’s vehicle was towed and then taken to Affordables to be impounded.
Swanson is being held on $4,000 bond until his jury trial on March 10.
