Worksite Wellness program begins January 13

MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health’s Worksite Wellness Assistance Program will launch on January 13th. In its fourth year, the program offers local businesses a unique opportunity to participate in a series of six workshops focused on Worksite Wellness Programming. The purpose of this program is to assist businesses in developing or enhancing employee wellness programs, policies, and system changes to improve the health of employees, while improving the business’ bottom line. This program is FREE of charge.

The Health Department will offer six monthly workshops to worksite representatives, assisting them in four major phases of worksite wellness programming: Assessments, Policies, Behavior Interventions, and Evaluations.

The workshops will be held the second Tuesday of the month from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at the Health Department.

The Health Department will provide resources representatives can use at their respective worksites during the course of each month as they build their employee wellness programs.

Please consider your organization’s participation in this beneficial opportunity. The process will help your business develop a sound, productive worksite wellness program built upon strong strategies and sustained by positive outcomes. This year the Department will also support worksites looking to become a designated Blue Zones Project worksite ensuring they achieve necessary designation requirements.
