MASON CITY – Police stopped a driver early Sunday and she was arrested for drunk driving.
Mason City police stopped a car driven by Skye Lee Lovik, age 27, Sunday morning December 21 at about 1:33 AM at Monroe Avenue and 1st Street SW. After in investigation, Lovik was arrested and taken to the county jail on a charge of first offense operating while intoxicated.
Lovik was soon released from jail pending a court date.

Seriously? Her mom is deceased. Her father WAS remarried and he and his ex-wife are now divorced!
are you referring to her mom, the judge that lets everyone out of jail with a slap on the wrist!
Especially since she knows a certain judge quite well.
Of course. I am so tired of the local politics in Mason City. A judicial system that is not fair and just. It’s all about who you know, and where you live. God forbid if you don’t live in the right part of town. Or make a certain amount of money. Or if you don’t know the right people. It’s ridiculous. The laws should pertain to everyone the same, and they don’t.
And as far as our local law enforcement officers..they target some people and have vendettas against some citizens. When there’s multiple drunk driving offenders out there or drunk drivers that have never been charged because they look the other way. And those multiple offenders and those that aren’t being pulled over are a risk to everyone else on the road.
I will be watching and following this to see if the court gives her her license back. There’s too many offenders that get dismissed.
