LAKE ANITA, IOWA – An Iowa man faces his third drunk driving offense after driving his friend’s SUV into a park and crashing into trees.
On July 13th, 2014, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident at Lake Anita State Park. A 2002 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Curtis Dow Baldwin, 41, of Anita, IA, lost control at the east park ranger entrance, entering the ditch and hitting several trees before coming to a stop.
The driver and a passenger (who was also the owner of the vehicle), Ryan Lavin, 40, were transported to Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic by Anita Fire and Rescue.
Baldwin was cited for OWI 3rd Offense and Driving While Barred, and Lavin was cited for Permitting Unauthorized Person to Drive. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $5,000.

While I don’t condone OWI, if this guy was a branstad, he’d get off scott free.
