Trial set for Spencer man accused of felony sexual abuse

SPENCER – A trial date has been set for a Spencer man who was arrested in May for an alleged sex crime against an underage female.

Challer Douglas Wadsley, age 19, was arrested on April 23 at the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of felony D third degree sexual abuse.

A mandatory reporter informed the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on March 28 of an alleged sexual encounter between Wadsley and a female more than four years younger than age 19, which lead to the charge and arrest.

Wadlsey posted $5,000 bond and was released from jail on April 28.

Wadlsey pled not guilty on May 5th. He now faces a jury trial on August 5th, 2014.
